Job Description:
Fabrication Specialist B
The Fabrication Specialist performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. The Fabrication Specialist prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements.
Shifts: The Fabrication Specialist positions are variable shifts, contractors must be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. Shift dependent on business need.

Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements/Years of experience/Etc.
o Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
o 6 months+ experience with Manufacturing, Fabrication and/or Aviation.
o 6 months+ experience/proficiency with typical hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, ratchets, etc.) Use of high impact vibratory tools.
o 6 months+ of experience with pneumatic/hydraulic equipment.
o 6 months+ of experience/ability to perform computer searches to look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications.
o 6 months+ of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.
o Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.
Top 3-5 Technical/Software Skills needed to perform this role/job?
o conventional material layup, precision measuring, power, pneumatic and hand tools.
o CNC experience.
o Crane Operations experience.
o experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematic and diagrams in aviation
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Successful completion and clearance of all screening requirements is a contingency for this assignment.
Must present a valid, unexpired photo ID and an original document that provides proof of US Person Status (per ECCVF) at time of badging to obtain badge.
