While reviewing resumes on Monster.com I came across more than one candidate who had posted their resume anonymously…or so they thought. Right next to anonymous was their name for all the world or at least employers with Monster accounts to see. Since they apparently were trying to hide their current job search they could very possibly have jeopardized their current position by showing their name. This is not uncommon. The problem is job posters see just a part of online job boards and unless they work for a company and have access to the employer side they may not be aware of how their resume is actually posted.

If you’re currently employed but looking and want to truly remain anonymous then my advice is don’t post your resume. Instead call a professional recruiter who specializes in your field. A good recruiter will give you guidance and advice and even more important keep your identity confidential.
