A Thanksgiving Message from Dunhill Staffing Systems
A Brief History of Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving has long been a day for Americans to pause, reflect, and gather in gratitude. Its origins trace back to 1621, when the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people came together in Plymouth, Massachusetts, to share a three-day harvest celebration. Over time, various colonies and states honored the tradition in their own ways until President Abraham Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday in 1863, during the Civil War. Since then, the fourth Thursday of November has stood as a day dedicated to giving thanks.
