Hiring recovery spreads: LinkedIn

A dozen industries tracked by LinkedIn hired above pre-COVID levels in March — the most since the pandemic began a year earlier. LinkedIn’s Hiring update, based on the member profiles of 176 million U.S. workers, also showed job creation remained close to the pandemic high reached in February. The biggest gains last month came in software and IT (up 13.9% vs. pre-COVID), wellness and fitness (up 11.4%) and transportation and logistics (up 10.3). Also gaining were seven metro areas, where hiring was above pre-COVID levels:

 

  • Atlanta (up 3.3% vs. pre-COVID)
  • Austin (up 6.0%)
  • Boston (0.5%)
  • Denver (1.5%)
  • Miami (1.7%)
  • Nashville (1.3%)
  • Phoenix (1.4%)
