In an earlier post I discussed doing research on the company prior to your first interview. Based on your research you’ve decided this is a play you want to work. How do you do that? Come with a list of relevant questions that show interest and thoughtfulness. By the way these questions shouldn’t be:
-
When do I get my first raise? or How soon do I get to take a vacation day?
- How much is my co-pay?
You get the point. These are important but there’s a time and place for these inquiries. Better questions should focus on how you can help the company achieve its objectives.
For instance:
-
How can I leverage my cash management experience to help you improve cash flow?
- Where do you see my experience assisting in reducing employee turnover?
The bottom line is give this some thought and be ready to ask relevant questions that show you’ve done your homework
