MP&P Engineer 2

 

Our team is looking for a high performing, collaborative Chemical Technology Engineer to evaluate, analyze and define innovative sealants systems and materials across the Company Enterprise and into the supplier network. We are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Early-Level Engineer located in Seattle, Washington.

MP&P Engineer Position Responsibilities:
Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications.
Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures.
Generates test plans, catalog test data, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause and documents results and recommendations as well as operating procedures.
Proposes, develops and validates revisions to procedures and specifications.
Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes and coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers
Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating and implementing new concepts and technology.
The MP&P Engineer Provides knowledge and technical consultation to internal and external customers.
Performs sealants testing to analyze and develop materials with improved characteristics and properties for future and sustaining program efforts.
Generates testing coupons, operate test equipment, conduct test activities, monitor test procedures, author test reports, and maintains compliance with laboratory safety practices.

 

Shifts: 1st Shift, on-call & part-time 24 hours a week. Schedule will depend on the week.
The MP&P Engineer role is 100% onsite.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years' experience or a Masters degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.


Top Must Haves:
1. Laboratory (lab) test experience (1 year)
2. Working in or around raw chemicals, specifically sealants
3. Experience developing laboratory documentation, test procedures, and data collection protocols

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• 1 year of experience working in a chemical laboratory environment
• 1 year of lab test operations experience
• 1 year experience operating test equipment (e.g. Instron)
• Tolerance working with and around chemicals (e.g. sealants)
• Experience developing laboratory documentation, test procedures, and data collection protocols
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
• Organizational skills to handle multiple program and work requests from start to finish
• Strong ability to perform work independently as well as work well with others
• High attention to detail, self-starter and results driven
• Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to perform effectively in a team environment
• Experience with MS Office Suite, such as Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• 2+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with sealants coupon generating and testing techniques and processes
• Mechanical knowledge of different equipment found in chemical labs (e.g. instron, etc)

 

Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment – OJT or formal classroom training.
