Product Data Management Engineer 4

 

Seeking a Configuration Management Engineer with a strong background in configuration control, process/product baselines, and data management. You have an interest in developing new engineering processes, tools, and ideas to help AvionX Product Support achieve their internal goals. You are a self-motivated individual that is interested in growing their overall configuration management engineering knowledge in the support of product development related to avionics.

Product Data Management Engineer Position Responsibilities:
Owns the development and implementation of configuration and data management standards, plans, processes, and tools related to product support
Defines and manages configuration and data management activities, requirements, documentation, templates, and deliverables etc. for product support
Partners with AvionX engineering to ensure smooth transition from design/production to support activities
Continual evaluation and assessment of current configuration management processes (baseline, release, change, and configuration control) for improvements and efficiency. Updates, reviews, and authors new documentation where necessary
Participates and/or administers product line Engineering Decisions Boards and the Change Control Boards, Program Management reviews and other operational meetings, maintains agenda, minutes, and approval artifacts
The Product Data Management Engineer assists with the development and implementation of Product Support/Sustainment program plans of limited scope including impacts, risks and incorporation of lessons learned related to configuration management
Establish Product Support training resources to be adopted by AvionX personnel around the world

 

Shifts: 1st shift 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
The Product Data Management Engineer role is 100% onsite in Plano, TX.

Minimal travel - perhaps 1 time during assignment to PA.

Job Requirements:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor, Master or Doctor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
• 7+ years of experience with configuration management process and practices
• 5+ years of experience with engineering baseline, release and configuration control execution and processes
• 5+ years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Configuration Management systems, Change Management, and PLM Processes and Tools
• Strong communication skills

Top Must Haves:
1. Previous experience as a configuration management engineer specialist. Specifically, creating processes, documenting process, etc.
2. Avionics product development, support and sustainment experience in any of these backgrounds: Aerospace, Military, Jets, helicopters, drones
3. Experience specifically with boxes on aircrafts with a focus on LRU – Line replaceable unit

Plusses:
1. Experience in operating in a new team with ambiguity and high autonomy

 

Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment – OJT or formal classroom training.
